You Can
Make Money Doing What You Love
Would you like to turn your enthusiasm for golf into a career? Whether you're a
novice or an expert, there are jobs available for you in the golfing field. You
hear it all the time; most people can't stand their “nine to five” jobs and
would do anything to do something they are passionate for as a profession.
Careers
in Golf
There are quite a few different career opportunities in the
golfing field. As stated before, there's something for all types of golfers.
Becoming a professional golfer takes a lot of skill and discipline. This can be
somewhat stressful, like most competitive fields. If you golf just for fun, you
could find a golf program that could help you
perfect your game. You could even start by simply working at a golf course.
Some of those jobs may include:
- Administration/Customer
Service
- Starter (schedule
tee times)
- Ranger (drive
around the course in a golf cart and make sure golfers are keeping the
pace they should be)
- Mechanic (fixing
golf carts)
- Course Maintenance
- Equipment Mechanic
- Promote and Market
You
may also want to manage a golf course someday. This would require being
knowledgeable in all of these areas. It's best to start small and work your way
up. Being a manager, you will be responsible for all your employees, the
budget, and your course. It is your duty to supervise your staff and make sure
everything runs smoothly for the golfers coming to your course.
Benefits of Working at a Golf Course
One of the biggest benefits of working at a golf course would be that it's
outdoors! You're not cramped up in tight office cubicle surrounded by the
chatter of other employees. Being active and outside can also help reduce
stress. Working outside at a golf course is not
only less stressful than an office job, but you are able to interact with
golfers doing what they love to do. Many people use golf as a means of getting
away from everything, so these golfers are usually in good spirits. It’s a
pleasant social neighborhood that can bring a lot of joy into your life. So I suppose the real question is if
you are an avid golfer who loves the game, why wouldn’t you want to pursue a
career in Golf?
